Panda Mania (VBS)

This year we had a wonderful turn out at our Vacation Bible School at First Church. The week started with a pool party at Boulder Park. Then, the children and crew members participated in a week long Bible school. The theme this year was Panda Mania. The children learned how much God loves us and makes all things possible. It was fun following Chatter the chipmunk through adventures as he taught the children all about God's perfect love. Extra special thanks to all the "crew members" who helped lead, teach, and supply talents in snacks and crafts. The children performed a special program during Sunday morning Worship Service.

Silver Saints Trip (Cass Railroad)

On June 9th, the Silver Saints took another trip. This time it was to Cass Railroad. This park is nestled in the mountains of West Virginia. The Cass Scenic Railroad is the same line built in 1901 to haul lumber to the mill in Cass. It was a historic and relaxing trip back through time.

We had an amazing Revival with an excellent speaker, Jeanette Flynn at First Church. The last night of Revival was a beautiful Unity Service with several Church of Gods. We hosted the services and a "linger longer" event afterward.

Celebrating The Resurection

At First Church we have celebrated Holy week. These are just a few pictures from some of the activities here at the church. This beautiful group of children have just finished celebrating at their Easter party.Palm Sunday Service at our church. The choir is performing the Easter Pageant. They had a beautiful performance celebrating our Lord.One of the outreach programs of WCG is to visit the residents at the Glenwood Retirement Home. This was a special Easter visit.
Our church conducts a special Sunrise Service on Easter morning. We celebrate the triumphant resurrection of our LORD!
After our Sunrise Service, we had an Easter breakfast together in our church Fellowship Hall.Thank you ladies for helping prepare such a delicious breakfast!

Silver Saints Bahama Cruise

On October 19th, the Silver Saints left Cape Canaveral and headed out on the deep blue sea. They headed to Nassau, Bahamas because the rough waters made the stop at CocoCay unsafe.
Instead, they enjoyed the sun and relaxed pace upon the Monarch of the Seas Royal Caribbean Ship. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed their time together in the sun, sand, and water!

After returning from the cruise, everyone enjoyed a couple hours at Caper Canaveral before heading on to Savannah, Georgia.

Before returning, the group enjoyed a last dinner at Paula Dean's Restaraunt.

Everyone enjoyed the live performance "Hollywood" in Savannah, Georgia before returning home. The Silver Saints are looking forward to their next trip!

E-Woman Conference

Thirteen women from our church were a part of 10,000 women to attend the E-Woman's Conference in Roanoke, Virgina. It was an exciting time and a great way to become renewed in the Spirit.This year's speakers were outstanding. We had a wonderful time getting to know one another better.

Silver Saints Trip

Silver Saints took a trip to Monticello this month. Although the number attending was small, the fun was huge! They enjoyed a day of not only touring the inside of the home, but walking the grounds as well. Touring included a view of the plantation, vegetable gardens, vineyards, berry squares, flower gardens, and the gravesite.

Rally Day 2009

Our 2nd Annual Rally Day was held on August 30th. It was a great time for everyone!
At the beginning of our celebration, we recognized all our teachers who give their hearts and time daily to help lead others. Carol Riffe was given the "Teacher of the Year Award" for her love and concern for the children of the church.Once the special recognitions were finished, we had a talent show. Afterwards, we had a "bouncing good time" in the bounce house for the children and food and games for everyone.

As you can see, it was a great time for the whole family. Thanks to everyone for the attendance and help!
